Danish Music Magazine,
Gaffa, presented three upcoming Danish bands one night in November
at my favorite Copenhagen music hall, Pumpehuset. Together with
Stripclubjunkies and Kira and the Kindred Spirits,
Aya gave a splended performance from the stage.
Though not untill
now emerged in the minds of the rock audience, Aya was already
formed 13 years ago under the band name, Ajja Sixpence. Only original
band member still in the band, is lead singer Allan Nordquist.
"Spaceship" became their break-through, being heavily replayed
in Danish National Radio, P3 and I admit that this song was the
only one from the set list, known to me prior to the concert. But I saw many teens
crowded in front of the stage, singing along, obviously knowing all the Aya lyrics
by heart.
The Club Gaffa Tour 2002 was a part of Aya's "Galaxy"
album promotion tour and a major tour around the country takes place from February
2003.
