The Cardigans
Tivoli, Copenhagen
11. June 2004

I've been a slow starter in discovering the music of The Cardigans - only being a fan since the 1998 Gran Turismo album. Their most recent album, Long Gone Before Daylight, was a favorite of mine already from the first day I bought the album on the release day. So my expectations were high when I entered the old Tivoli Gardens to hear this brilliant band from our neighbour country. Many fans had followed them from Sweden, as much Swedish was heard among the crowded audience, which counted almost 40.000 people!
The charismatic front singer and writer of the lyrics, Nina Persson, is the natural focusing point in the band, as is Shirley Manson of Garbage, Gwen Stephani of No Doubt and Freya when she was in Sparkler! That's my excuse for the fact that a large majority of my photos from this night, have the lovely Nina in focus.
The music was as beautiful as I expected! We got all the songs from the new album (excluding only one), and the hits, Erase / Rewind and My Favorite Game. Add to that two unrecorded new songs, which brings bright prospects of the coming album.

Nina wore a silver necklace with a swallow, a drop,
a dog and a sign with the letters "CAMP".
