It
was not much I knew about Ida Corr before I
saw her perform as one of the guest artists at Rosie
McGee's when celebrating their 11th Anniversary. The
other artists were Freya, Christian
and Martin Preisler (see seperate photo series
of their performances).
In fact I only knew her from some stupid entertainment broadcast
on telly, in a programe I do not even remember the name of.
And then from the gossip magazines, as Tim Vladimir's
girlfriend.
Strange that I had overseen this talentet singer! Or maybe
she's just started her career as a solo artist? I don't know.
Anyway, she showed off as a real professional stage performer
with a voice almost similar to my all time favorite Danish
singer, the great Monique!
And only being 26 years of age, she has great potintial
to become a big shot in the future. This powerful vocal has
priviously backed bands such as SOAP and Gnags,
and she was/is one of voices in the girl trio Sha Li
Mar (with Christina Undhjem and Engelina).
There's a link to Freya as well: Freya's
former boyfriend, Kåre Kabel Mai, played
the drums in SOAP's backing band, in which Ida
Corr sang the back-up vocals. And this night she shared
the stage together with Freya.
This night Ida gave a set of wellknown funky
1980's hits in her personal versions. The beautiful ballad
by M. Reid and A. Shamblin, I
Can't Make You Love Me, was the highlight for me from
Ida's set.
I believe that we have coming star here.
