When I made my
first live shooting of Karen in 2000, she had just released her
debut album, En Til En, one month earlier (watch the series here).
The sound of the album was unique at that time, and the sound on Karen's
most recent album, Ingen Smalle Steder, is still unique for a Danish
production. I took a second opportunity to see this fascinating artist, when
she made her 2005 Ballerina Tour start at Viften in
Rødovre. I was surprised that Karen and her tight playing
backing band managed to recreate the very complicated sound on the new album,
live at stage. Karen performed very selfconfident, but never
arrogant. She delivers her special lyrics from her female univers, very wisely
and not without humor. Karen is a charismatic and very sexy stage
performer, constantly moving around at stage. What an energy radiating from this
strong personality. Unfortunately the stage spotlights was not optimum for
digital photography, so I hope to make another series when the Tour hits Copenhagen
Vega on 23. April. You should be there ...
