I was lucky to
see Kira and The Kindred Spirits and Beth
Hart perform on stage within three days. Two very strong stage personalities,
performing with emense energy. The two of them have much in common. I can only
recall the late Janis Joplin being gifted with a similar raw and
pure rock feeling, singing out all har pain, sexuality and soul. From the very
first time I heard Kira perform some two years ago. I was convinced
that she and her band would be big, not only in this country, but abroad as well!
I'm sure that their second album, scheduled for a 31st january 2005 release, will
become the well deserved break-through in and outsite Denmark. I've been to
a lot of rock concerts during the last 37 years, and apart from a Pink Floyd
concert in the beginning of the 1970's, a Bruce Springsteen concert
and some of Bob Dylan's concerts, Kira and The Kindred Spirits'
concerts are the best, I've ever attented! We got a batch of songs off the
new album, together with some of the classical songs from the debut album. Kira
& Co also performed the great The Raphsody, which will
unfortunately not fit in on the upcoming album. If you haven't seen Kira
& Co on the scene yet, there's still one more chance at Loppen
on 16. December.
