For an old 60's freak like me it was a scoop to see old heroes like Lasse Helner, Ole Fick and Frank Lauridsen performing together on the same stage. I've been a long time fan of Lasse Helner from his Moondust-days with Jørn Mader in 1973.
At the opening concert on the Dreamtime 2005 Promotion Tour Lasse Helner had put a very strong backing band together. Backed by world famous bassist Daryl Johnson, who have played with Emmelou Harris, Neville Brothers, Rolling Stones and Daniel Lanois to mention a few. On drums the very spirited Bernard Johnson, who almost took the attention on the visual part, and I couldn't help focusing a lot at him with my camera. And not to forget Frank Lauridsen, who has played together with Lasse Helner for 40 years, starting in the Danish band, The Baronets way back in 1965! I remember him also with Midnight Sun as a really good vocalist.
Mathilde played the violin on one song and it was nice to see that this laid-back music style still lives on stage. Though played by old men (like myself!) the sound and the atmosphere coming from these experienced musicians was very potent and lively. And up to date.
