Maria
Viskonti and her band was support for Maya Albana
this night at Loppen at Christiania (see photo
series of Maya Albana). There was not time for
a sound check, so the concert went on right away, - quite
in the spirit of Maria's, I believe, as she
is much into spontaniously performed music without too much
editing. She perfers first takes at recording sessisons, to
preserve the energy into the tracks. I agree completely at
this point, so again the band managed to bring memories back
to a small music club in NYC in the mid 1960's.
What Maria lacks in stage experience, she has
plentifully in musical quality. I still miss to feel that
the band enjoy to perform. Maria has no
reason at all not to believe in her materia, whatsoever.
Her strong songs are really quite unique. I just not hope,
but I'm firmly convinced that here we face a coming great
talent at the Danish music scene. Watch her closely! Only
thing she needs is an efficiently working promotion management,
which unfortunately is a must these days.
We got a rocking set of songs from Maria Viskonti's
brilliant debut album, Burn the Bridge, and
a priviously unreleased song, See The Saddest Girl.
I look foreward to follow this young talent in the future.
