Maria Viskonti
Store Vega, Copenhagen
30. April 2004

Maria Viskonti and her brother, Jacob, did a support job proir to the Big Fat Snake concert at Store Vega. (Pictures from this event coming soon!). The Snake's keyboard player, Pete Repeat, had had an accident with his foot, so The Snakes weren't able to play their rutine double set, and this gave Maria a chance to perform for a larger audience, both this night and the night before at BFS's concert in Vejle.

Anyway, as I'm not that familiar with BFS's repertory, I came to hear Maria, as it was the first time, I heard her playing acousticly, -at least at a live performance. I have transformed six hours of Maria's demo recordings from various media (cassette tape, MD and DAT) into cd's for her. Very interesting material which proves Maria's immense talent for writing competent songs. This very personal songs are a goldmine of unique material showing that we have a lot to expect from this still young, but very giftet artist.

Tonight's acoustic performance also proved that her songs held good compared to the rock-band versions I've heard before, live and on the album. We got a new unreleased song, No One, as the closing song at the short set. But no doubt: Maria was for me the main artist on the bill that evening at Vega.
