Mavis
Rust, Copenhagen
23. July 2005

I was present that night at Rust to make a live series of the new hope at the Danish music scene, Liv Thrane, and her band, Myra Green (watch the photos here). So I took the opportunity to see one of the upcomers playing right after Myra Green: Mavis.
I did'n knew them before this performance, and I was surprised to discover this kind of almost symphonically music still to be played by young musicians. Certainly not mainstream pop, but music of great complexity. Though the audience was left behind with the impression of some real unique music, it reminded me of the art of several 1960's/70's bands such as the great Danish bands Ache and Alrune Rod, but also contemporary bands like Saybia and Baal.
You can read more about this exciting upcoming band at their site here.
