Benjamin Lylloff
Album Recording Session
Krudttønden, Coprnhagen

14. July 2006

This concert was not a usual performing act, more a public recording session, as Benjamin Lylloff recorded his debut album at this occation. So a lot of microphones and six video cameras were placed all over to capture the event on audio and video footage.
I saw this young talent perform for the first time earlier this year as one of three bands (see my photos here). I experienced his engaging talent and promised myself to go to his recording concert as well.
Because of the recording session Benjamin and the ensamble did several takes of the same song in order to get an optimized version of each song. Some breathtaking moments arose when Benjamin played his emotional songs about lost love and past childhood, not to mention the song about his late father.
He also played a Mozart piece, and never have I heard Mozart played in such a melancolic way, - it was more Benjamin than Amadeus.

Benjamin Lylloff is a gifted and sensitive artist - I've already once compared him with a young version of Jamers Tayler, and Benjamin lived up to that this night also. I hope that we'll hear a lot from him from the music scene in the future.
