Lise Blaase
Lades Kælder, Copenhagen
7. January 2007

Sometimes I wish that I were a record producer. If so I would immediately sign Lise Blaase and Tanja Appehl and release their brilliant material!
I saw Lise Blaase perform for the first time with a duo version of her band Antophones at Holmen in May 2005 (see here). After the concert she gave me a demo of her beautiful songs and since then I've watched out for her at the music scene.
So it was a nice coincidence to see that she had a support job at Lades for one of my favorite upcomers, Kaspar Vig's band, Silver City (see photos from their performance here). After the concert Lise told me that it was actually her debut concert as a solo artist.

Lise's music reminds of the music of the early acoustic Joni Mitchell, and also of the 60's band, Incredible String Band. She performs her beautiful melancholic songs with great passion and she manages to bring the listener to another world with her almost divine music.
Lise Blaase is also a member of Danish band The Broken Beats, where she sings the choir.

Astrid Nova is another upcoming artist and I'm looking foreward to hear some of her own material. You can visit Lise's myspace profile here, and if you want to learn more about Astrid look here.
