I have a lot of good memories of Røde Mor Rock Cirkus from the early 70's. Røde Mor Rock Cirkus was the band plus Clausen & Petersen. So I was really looking foreward to seeing Røde Mor once again. Not merely to hear the wellknown leftwing songs, but also to enjoy Troels Trier's wonderful stage performance!
I wasn't disappointed! Troels gave the entusiastic audience exactly what they came for.
A scoop was that Erik Clausen appeared on stage and gave me a flash back to the funny days with Røde Mor Rock Cirkus. I met him backstage after the concert, and it was great to shake hands with this old idol of mine. Last time I met him was during the Villa Paranoia film shooting (see People I Met).
I also met the lovable Helle Fastrup, who arranged my backstage pass and managed to get all the set lists of the three performing bands. (Kenneth Thordal and Dream City were the support bands, playing prior to Røde Mor). Many thanks to Helle for your sweet kindness and support. I really appreciate your help and friendship!
Helle played the main role with Clausen & Petersen in Clausen's 1981 movie, Cirkus Casablanca. I made an updated double portrait of the two of them, which can be viewed at the bottom of this page.
Helle is the the widow of drummer Ken Gudman, who died in 2003 and the person behind Ken Gudman Mindefond. An annual concert is arranged for the memory of Ken Gudman (next event taking place at Amager Bio on 9. October 2005). Helle is also the webadministrator of Røde Mor's website (See here).
